Tiger One-to-World provides our students access to the tools necessary for 21st century teaching and learning.
Continuing with our promise of preparing our students for tomorrow, today, the Loveland City School District is proud to provide our students with access to learning tools and technology that accelerates student learning and increases additional opportunities for student growth and innovation.
Supporting Tiger Growth, Innovation and Care
Supporting the goals of our district and in line with Destination Loveland, the Tiger One-to-World Initiative will provide the opportunity for all of our students in grades 7-12 at Loveland High School and Loveland Middle School to obtain a dedicated Chromebook from the school district, as well as provide classroom access to technology in grades PreK-6.
Details of the Tiger One-to-World program in grades 7-12
1) Families pay a $135/year annual technology fee for use of a district Chromebook; after three years, ownership of device transfer to family. Cost of the fee includes:
- A 4GB touchscreen Chromebook
- Protective case
- Google management license
- District support and service of the device
- Three-year manufacturer and accidental damage warranty
2) Students may choose to bring their own device (BYOD).
This device must meet general device requirements, and the device will be registered through the school. Smartphones and tablets are not considered to be an approved student device. More details regarding requirements for approved devices can be .
When we register your student’s electronic learning device we will be documenting the manufacturer and model of your child’s device to assist with identification in the event of loss or theft, as well as the device’s MAC address which allows us to give your student access to a protected wireless network while at school. In the event of loss or theft, having the device’s MAC address registered will also give us some information on the device’s location while still on our network, hopefully leading to the retrieval of the device. This does not give us access to any personal data or information that may be stored on the device, nor does it provide the ability to monitor or track student use while on the device. Additionally, for the Securly internet filter to provide the best user experience for students who bring their own device to school, the installation of a Securly certificate on the student’s device is required. This certificate only allows access to sites who use certain encryption methods and does not collect or filter any data on the machine outside the filtering methods described above.
Device registration will occur during back-to-school schedule pickup and/or orientation, and can also be done through the student help desk at LHS and LMS.
3) Students who qualify for free/reduced lunch will be provided a Chromebook at no cost.
Benefits of the district Chromebook option include Loveland provided break/fix support and maintenance, while also providing loaner devices if maintenance on the device is required.
By default, all students will be enrolled in the district Chromebook option and be assigned a Chromebook. Families who are enrolled in the lease-to-own program for the current school year will continue to be enrolled in the program unless otherwise noted.
